MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP LEJEUNE, N.C. — A Marine student with the Expeditionary Operations Training Group conducts a fast-rope descent out of an UH-1Y Venom helicopter as part of the Helicopter Rope Suspension Techniques Master Course at Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, N.C., Oct. 21. The Marines conducted their descent at approximately 50 feet from the helicopter, which was operated pilots with by Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron 167.

Trident Juncture is a NATO- led exercise designed to certify NATO response forces and develop interoperability among participating NATO and partner nations.

MARINE CORPS AIR GROUND COMBAT CENTER TWENTYNINE PALMS, Calif. — A Marine with 1st Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment fires at a target at an unknown distance drill during the sniper marksmanship assessment as part of Integrated Training Exercise 1-16 aboard Marine Air Ground Combat Center, Twentynine Palms, Calif., Saturday. During ITX, Marines demonstrate core infantry mission essential tasks while conducting offensive and defensive stability operations.
